Match: Jay Lethal & Homicide vs. Tommaso Ciampa & Rhino w/ The Embassy It’s Ciampa and Lethal to start the match, and Lethal immediately takes down Ciampa with a drop toe hold. Ciampa gets back to his feet, and Lethal leap frogs him before flipping off the second rope. Ciampa catches Lethal with a head scissors and makes the tag to Rhino. Lethal quickly makes the tag to Homicide. Rhino military presses Homicide and drops him face-first down to the mat. Rhino makes the tag to Ciampa, and Ciampa stomps a mud hole in Homicide in the corner. Ciampa distracts the referee as Prince Nana goes to work on Homicide from the outside. Homicide fights back to the middle of the ring and levels Ciampa with a lariat before making the tag to Lethal. Lethal gets tosses to the outside, and Rhino works him over before rolling him back into the ring. Ciampa gets a two count, but Lethal just manages to kick out. Ciampa and Lethal trade chops in the middle of the ring, and Lethal knocks Ciampa down to his knees. Lethal heads for Ciampa, but Ciampa springs from his knees up into the air and connects with a low drop kick to Lethal’s knee. That was pretty damn impressive. Ciampa makes the tag to Rhino, and Rhino repeatedly levels Lethal with a series of short clotheslines. Rhino goes for the tag but only gets a two count. Lethal gets back to his feet and fights back with a volley of chops. Lethal hits the ropes and charges Rhino, but Rhino catches him with a belly-to-belly suplex. Rhino sets up for the Gore, but Lethal catches him with a super kick. Both men are down, but eventually they make the tags to their respective partners. Homicide goes for the Three Amigos, but Ciampa blocks the third suplex. Rhino charges the ring to make the save, but Homicide head butts him and follows up with a head scissors takedown that sends Rhino to the outside. Ciampa whips Homicide to the ropes, but Homicide dives through the ropes and takes out Rhino with a tope con hilo. Homicide heads back into the ring, but Ciampa catches him with a Northern Lights Suplex. Ciampa hits Homicide with a series of knee shots in the corner, but Homicide retaliates with the Ace Crusher. Rhino and Lethal storm the ring, but Lethal sends both men to the outside with a hurricanrana. Homicide goes for Da Cop Killa, but Ciampa flips over and counters into Project Ciampa II (i.e., a powerbomb dropped into a double knee backbreaker) for the three count. Winner: Tommaso Ciampa defeats Homicide with Project Ciampa II. Related links

ROH officials announced yesterday (http://www.facebook.com/ringofhonor/posts/10150287141321328) that Jay Lethal was now free of his prior commitments for September 17th and had immediately been signed to compete at “Death before Dishonor IX” in NYC. As promised, the match in which he will compete has also been finalized, and it is one that may dredge up a few bad memories for Lethal as he has history with both his partner and his opponents. His partner in this tag team grudge match is none other than “The Notorious 187” Homicide and their opponents, representing The Embassy, are Tommaso Ciampa & Rhino! When ROH last came to NYC, Homicide pinned Rhino in their Street Fight but certainly did not look like the victor as Rhino took advantage of Prince Nana’s post-match “assault” to Gore the former ROH World Champ through a table. Homicide had to be assisted to the locker room after the attack and, in addition to coughing up blood, suffered damaged to his ribs from the Gore. Homicide has been waiting for an opportunity to get his revenge on The Embassy since that night, but ROH officials were not about to let ‘Cide compete without medical clearance, a clearance he only provided within the last 48 hours. Still, ROH management was not comfortable allowing Homicide to go it alone and with Jay Lethal’s schedule opening up, officials saw the perfect opportunity to capitalize on Lethal’s availability and provide Homicide with back-up in his burgeoning battle against The Embassy; a battle that has seen Ciampa beat ‘Cide on two occasions as well as leave him bruised & battered after “Best in the World 2011”. Still, this isn’t a unit without its history. ROH faithful may recall a particularly tense 2005 as Lethal & Samoa Joe went to war against The Rottweilers who were led by Homicide. Also in that same year Jay Lethal took the Pure Title from The Embassy’s John Walters, and to this day, that remains the only title Prince Nana’s unit has ever held. Although it has been years since that time, some feelings never die, and Prince Nana is not one to let go of grudges: “Jay Lethal and Homicide, eh?” offered the Prince, “Two fools who want to step up to my Embassy eh? Rhino broke you last time you disgusting thug, left you spitting up your blood like a baby spitting up its food. And I never forget what you did to my Embassy Jay Lethal, but that was a different time and a different Embassy. With Tommaso Ciampa at the forefront, the only undefeated man in Ring of Honor, this Embassy has dominated like never before! How is it you people say it again? Killing two birds with one stone? That is exactly what The Embassy will do in New York to Homicide and Lethal! My Project, my Animal, they will leave Homicide in itty bitty pieces all over the city and Lethal, we will stop you in your tracks my friend! This is The Embassy’s time here in Ring of Honor, The Embassy is the face of ROH, The Embassy is forever!” Related links

This November at UWF Street King, the first Urban Wrestling Federation champion will be crowned and with the title will come the money and power for the crew who holds it. But becoming UWF Champ takes more than a single win. At UWF First Blood, both “The Notorious 187″ Homicide from Uncle Murder’s crew and Bestia from Billy Blue’s crew qualified for the 4 Way War at Street King. Now, at UWF Hood Justice, four more wrestlers will have a chance to earn a place in the match to crown a king, but only two will make it. In a battle of the big men, Rich “The Best” Ortiz from Brisco’s crew will go one-on-one with Big Block’s “Street Psycho” Rasche Brown. The Cash Money/Poe Boy rapper from Oopa Locka (Miami), FL thinks he’s got the match and the title all in the bag with former WWE star Ortiz in his camp. But the President of Bad Boy South, Big Block, plans on the gold heading down South with him to Atlanta. There is a reason Rasche Brown is known as the “Street Psycho” and Block can’t wait to unleash him on the Beast. In the other “Street King UWF Championship Qualifying Bout” at Hood Justice it will be Slyck Wagner Brown from Uncle Murder’s set going up against “The Cuban Pitbull” Ricky Reyes who’s on loan to Brisco thanks to his association with Cuban Link for whom Reyes works. With SWB’s crewmate Homicide already qualifying for the title match, Murder wants to assure himself of 50-50 stakes in the Street King match by having another man under his orders lock in his spot. But, Brisco is seeing the math too, and has looked to increase his stable by adding Cuban Link and his crew to the family. When it comes to pure athletic ability, not many can go toe-to-toe with Slyck Wagner Brown. A veteran of the fight game, SWB was hand chosen along side Homicide to show the world and the UWF that the money and power were not leaving the NYC. Brown may be one of the most well rounded men on any crew, his opponent can more than handle his own and is known as a submission specialist. “The Cuban Pitbull” is one of the most feared competitors in the UWF and Cuban Link seems like he not only wants to prove to Brisco he made the right business decision by bringing him and his boys into the mix, but to prove that IF and WHEN he wanted to start a UWF crew of his own, he certainly could! Four men…But only two will win and move on to the Four Way War at Street King to crown the first Urban Wrestling Federation champion! Do not miss UWF Hood Justice, premiering on Pay Per View on Sunday, September 25 at 8 PM ET and available on all cable and satellite providers. Related links |
